If you're visiting our website, you share our view that Nemaha County is a fine places to live, and we hope you share our interest in making it even better.  The Nemaha County Development Alliance believes that preserving and building upon our assets will secure a prosperous future.  We also believe that only through partnership and cooperation among all of our communities can that goal be realized.  Our strategy for Nemaha County's future rests on these attributes:

• A strong small business and entrepreneurial environment -- We believe that fostering small business development and entrepreneurship will help our communities prosper and grow and will create opportunities for newcomers.

• Affordable housing -- We believe that people who work in Nemaha County should have access to high quality housing that is not beyond the reach of their incomes.  We also believe that when people reach retirement age, there should be affordable and comfortable accommodations.

• Tourism -- We believe that promoting Nemaha County's attractions, beautiful scenery and relaxed lifestyle will bring visitors to explore, shop and maybe even stay.

• Opportunities for young people -- We believe that many of Nemaha County's youth and young people from elsewhere will choose to live here to take part in new business and work opportunities, educate their children in our fine schools and enjoy our way of life.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Through a spirit of unity and cooperation, the Nemaha County Development Alliance seeks to engage communities countywide in retaining and attracting residents.  Strategies of primary importance include small business development and entrepreneurship, tourism attraction, and housing rehabilitation and construction.  The engagement and retention of our county’s youth represents the NCDA’s over-arching and long-term  strategy to reverse declining population trends.  At all times, the Nemaha County Development Alliance will  endeavor to educate citizens and elected officials concerning rapidly changing and effective rural economic and community development philosophies and strategies.
